Eric Boateng
A former NCAA and London 2012 Olympian. Eric Boateng has competed in 3X European championships and has now pivoted into team and sports management and leadership. Putting his Global and International studies degree to good use by serving amateur and elite teams.
Eric Boateng has enjoyed a basketball career that has seen him play at the highest level of the US college system, experience the NBA, play in professional leagues across the world, and become a British Olympian. After moving to the US at the age of 16, Eric earned national recognition during his time at high school before gaining a scholarship to play NCAA Division I college basketball.
After taking part in the NBA draft of 2010 and having preseason spells at the New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets and the LA Lakers, Eric Boateng played professionally in the NBA G-league and in professional leagues in Greece, Germany, Argentina, and France. Eric was also a regular in the British basketball team after making his international debut at the age of 21 later becoming one of the highest capped players in Great Britain basketball history representing Team GB in the London 2012 Olympics games.
After gaining vast experience at the elite level, Boateng put his knowledge to supporting Team GB as an elected member of the British Olympic Association Athletes’ Commission where he served two terms and was later reelected to the Commission in November 2018. Boateng gained a major skillset as both an athlete and as someone who can support his fellow teammates.
Eric Boateng is now supporting Team GB in the Paris 2024 Olympics offering mentorship and guidance to athletes and assisting staff. Simultaneously, he also offers a similar role as the general manager for the Brixton Topcats and the director of Nike Basketball Camps UK.
